[IAEA] Welcoming Nuclear Experts from Lybia
Under the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Korea NuclearAssociation(KNA) arranges technical cooperation programme for candidates who have been awarded a scientific visit under the IAEA’s specific programme. Working with the IAEA on the ‘Supporting Decision Making for the Introduction of Nuclear Power’ project, KNA organized nuclear seminars andon-site visits in Korean nuclear industry especially for IAEA member countries which have not introduced commercial nuclear power plants yet. This year, the Libyan experts were invited and a nuclear seminar was held from 17th October to 18th October. The seminar contained valuable sessions including topics such as Experience & Capability of Korean Nuclear Industry, Safeguards Implementation in the ROK, Introduction of 1st NPP, etc. Site visits were held as well. Libyan experts hold favorable views of the whole program arranged, and they answered two of most memorable visits were KINGS and Doosan Heavy Industry. As Libya is in the phase of introducing nuclear, they found KINGS’s human resource development program adequate to their needs.
